Hugh’s illustration work blends bold, graphic style with a rendered and textured sensitivity, telling stories that are impactful, yet layered in depth.

His work draws stylistic influences from video games and manga that he grew up with, in combination with that of old surrealist painters and Eastern printmakers. Le has also been shaped by his upbringing in a family of musicians, which has cultivated a deep love for jazz and R&B ever present in his work.

Hugh’s comics work takes his surrealist inspirations along with sci-fi horror elements, combining them to write stories that can inspire hope in the face of an uncertain future.

When he’s not busy getting carpal tunnel in his drawing hand, you can usually find him getting it again in his non-drawing hand.
